ABOUT SEDGEFIELD TWINNING ASSOCIATION
The original purpose of the Sedgefield Twinning Association was “to promote and foster friendship and understanding between the people of the town of Sedgefield and District and those of Hamminkeln in Germany”. The STA’s success is still evident from ongoing mutual visits and longstanding friendships between families in the two countries, sometimes even being passed on from generation to generation!
OUR HISTORY
The Sedgefield Twinning Association and the first link with our twin town Hamminkeln in Germany were founded in 1982. Since then, yearly exchanges have taken place between these two towns and, of course, warm friendships grew and people kept going back year after year.
OUR FUTURE
The Sedgefield Twinning Association has come a long way over the past four decades. Strong friendships have been built over the years but we would now like to explore how we can grow this further, for instance by engaging with other sports and social clubs or local businesses.

A group of around 15 Germans from Hamminkeln will be visiting Sedgefield.
